We use the old testament sources to back up Jesus Christ but without Jesus to fulfill those prophecies, they are useless in proving anything without new testament fulfillment. This is because of the nature of the predictions, in this case pointing to Jesus. To answer your second question the true religion switching from Judaism to Christianity does not invalidate the promises to Abraham. I hope I have explained this well enough for you to understand.
free will allows all beings that have it to make their own independent choices, so it is explainable that the angels could have decided not to obey God before humans. I do not know of any scriptural citations to prove this but also note Lucifer was the one who told them to not to do as God told them. also, note that both the humans and the rebellious angels wanted to be greater when they were not supposed to want to be greater in those ways. In Isaiah 14:13 lucifer says "I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation" obviously he is envying more power the previous verse notes that he is "fallen from heaven". this shows that he got kicked out because of his sinful want of God's position. The probable thing to conclude would be lucifer chose evil of his own free will and then corrupted the humans because when he entered as a serpent he was already preaching rebellion to them in the form of rejecting God's command not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. we know its the same person because the Hebrew word נחש apparently can mean serpent or bronze or shining one and is used of that same character.
Hi Brandon I think I may be able to offer insight. Your situation is hard but your eternal reward is greater. Christ said"if you love me keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another helper the spirit of truth"(John14:15-17a)The Holy Spirit can help you if you choose to be faithful to the truth of God's word. Remember satan"walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.(1 Peter5:8-9)Satan will try to resist you entering the kingdom at all costs if he can dissuade you of doing what is the will of God by stirring up your emotions then he will. You must resist satan because he is the true adversary seeking to have you deny christ. Jesus said"I am the way the truth and the life"(John14:6)If you neglect the truth then you neglect Christ. If you willingly neglect the truth and tell others to do so then Satan has won. So why does doing the right thing feel like it will hurt the ones you love? It is because Satan wants you to reject the truth. Do not deny the truth and God will not deny you. You know the truth do it.
